Movement and music have been used throughout time as language, medicine, meditation, expression. This moving meditation practice is a space for you to use movement to connect to your inner rhythm and its resonance with everything else around you. You don't need anything but yourself, no past dance experience. Our whole being exists on vibration, it knows how to move without instruction.
Your sensory experience is enhanced by live instrumentation. The synergy of musician and dancer uplifts the spirit in a way that has been utilized through generations of communities. (When Bob Garrett cannot play, Nadine will design the playlists). The practice is lightly guided to encourage you to relax the thinking mind and consciously connect to your intuitive self.
Nadine will lead warmups from different somatic techniques. This freeform practice of dancing/moving brings up the ah-ha of who we are beyond ego, limitations, judgements. Our community is strengthened when we move and see each other as partners on the same journey.
Nadine Lollino has a background in dance, dance/movement therapy, yoga and massage. She is co-founder of performance group, PosterchildArt with musician/artist Bob Garrett, based in Pilsen at their home studio Temple Gallery. Her interest in performance, teaching yoga and dance, and in massage therapy is to offer a safe space for self-exploration and transformation. To invite everyone to feel, play, explore, and heal.
